Home / FAQ's
Q. Why do I have to have a phone consultation before my appointment?
A. As the De la Motte team want you to get the very best out of your session we need to make sure you are fully prepared. That you have directions to the studio and car park. That you have planned your outfits, yes we expect two outfits, and you have all the extra items you will need for a session which involves a pet or toddler. This is as well as props to personalise your photographs. This preparation is the key to a smooth stress free portrait session.
Q. How long will my photo shoot take?
A. For Makeovers, Boudoir and newborns allow 2 hours. All other appointments are 1 hour.
Q. How many photographs will I have taken?
A. Our photographers will take a range of images for you to choose from. The photographer will take some family breakdowns to allow them to create their multi wall Art. Most customers have so many images they love they find it hard to make a selection! But don't worry a member of our design team will be on hand to offer advice.
Q. Why do I have to pay a refundable booking deposit?
A. This is taken as a gesture of goodwill that you intend to come to both your photo session and viewing appointment. When you have attended both appointments the deposit will be refunded or can be used towards any photographs at your viewing.
Q. What if my child plays up?
A. We use the skills we have homed over the years working with children to get them on side. There are tricks of the trade we are able to draw on for those children who are overly shy and those who like to bounce to around.
Q. Can I bring a friend to watch?
A. It is not possible for us to accommodate spectators due to health and safety regulations
Q. Can I bring my pet?
A. Call the studio for a chat first. We like to welcome all pets at the Shifnal studio however some do find it more stressful than others, and the pets welfare is our main concern at all times.
Q. Will you do my make-up before the photo session?
A. We will only do your make-up if you have booked a Makeover,Boudoir or Fresh Maternity session. Like on the stage the studio lights can take some of the definition from you, so we would suggest that you apply make-up to give your skin a smooth even colour, wear blusher and define lips and eyes.
Q. Can we bring along our own props for the photo-shoot?
A. Our photographers love having props to work with and the more personal the better. Please let us know during your phone consultation what you are bringing along so that they have time to work on their ideas before your session.
Q. Do you photograph weddings?
A. David photographs a handful of weddings each year if the bride and grooms brief meets his artistic style. There is always a meeting with David before he will commit to undertaking a wedding to ensure he has artistic licence and time to create his work. Packages start from £1750.
